ROHM – ML5203 Li-ion Battery monitoring IC (4 to 7cells,NMOS-FET)
The ML5203 is a Li-ion battery monitoring IC for series 4 to 7 multi-cell battery pack.
The ML5203 detects overcharge voltage, over-discharge voltage, and over-current. And it turns on and off external NMOS-FETs automatically. With external control of MCU, monitoring voltage and current function and cell balancing function is available.

- Applicable from 4 up-to 7 cells series-connected Lithium ion battery packs.
- Power supply voltage : + 5 V ~ + 42 V
- Low current consumption: Nomal mode : 30 μA (typ.), 60 μA (max.); Sleep mode : 0.1 μA (typ.), 1 μA (max.)
- Overcharge detection accuracy : +/- 25 mV (typ.): Large overcharge detection accuracy : +/- 35 mV (typ.); Over-discharge detection accuracy : +/- 50 mV (typ.); (*) Each detection voltage is fixed as a mask code option
- External FET control : NMOS-FET driver built-in
- Cell voltage monitoring function
- Cell balance fanction: Uses MCU I/F to control ON/OFF of the built-in cell balance switch; Built-in cell balance switch ON resistor = 6Ω (typ.)
- External MCU interface: Equipped with I2C compatible serial interface
- Operating temperature range : – 40 ℃ ~ + 85 ℃
