Intel® is further expanding the most comprehensive portfolio of depth camera solutions on the market. The Intel® RealSense™ Depth Camera D405 is a short-range stereo camera with sub-millimeter detection accuracy for close-range computer vision needs. With Intel® RealSense™ Stereo Depth technology machines that only see 2D today will be enabled for 3D vision. For this purpose, stereo image sensing technology uses two cameras to calculate depth and enables devices to see, understand, interact with, and learn from their environment – powering intuitive, natural interaction and immersion.

For close range computer vision needs the Intel® RealSense™ D405 is the depth camera of choice. Operating at an ideal range of 7 to 50 cm it is capable of a minimum object detection down to 500 microns at 7 cm. The high-resolution, color, global shutter depth sensors provide matched RGB and depth data. The small dimensions of the Intel® RealSense™ D405 are made possible by getting RGB data from the depth sensor and enhancing it with a built-in image signal processor (ISP). At 42 mm × 42 mm × 23 mm and 60 g the D405 is smaller than a golf ball – without compromising on quality. In addition, support by the cross-platform, open-source Intel® RealSense™ SDK 2.0 is another advantage.
