STMicroelectronics – New balun simplifies antenna matching for SPIRIT1-based RF apps
The BALF-SPI-02D3 Balun device interfaces with ST’s 433 MHz SPIRIT1 RF chip by combining the RF Balun and Tx harmonic filter functions in a single device. It highly simplifies board design and ensures optimum RF performance with limited engineering design resources. Supplied in a 2.0 x 1.4 mm Flip-Chip package, it occupies only 10% of the board space usually required for the equivalent 15 separate passive components, while providing full compliance with ETSI, FCC and ARIB regulations for 315-433 MHz frequency bands.
Key Features
- 50 Ω nominal input / conjugate match to SPIRIT1
- Low insertion loss
- Low amplitude imbalance
- Low phase imbalance
- Small footprint
Benefits
• Very low profile (< 670 μm)
• High RF performance
• RF BOM and area reduction
Applications
• 434 MHz impedance matched balun filter
• Optimized for ST chipset SPIRIT1
