AVX Releases the World’s Smallest & Lowest Profile Tantalum Capacitors
AVX has manufactured the world´s smallest 0201 tantalum capacitors with dimensions as small as 0.60×0.33×0.33mm.
The expected “CV” that can fit into this package is on a level of 0.47µF/6.3V capacitors. The advancements in tantalum technology are also bringing the capability to produce sub 0.6mm capacitors with a 1206 large footprint, which embeds large capacitance values that have not been achievable until now. In the case of 1206 flat capacitor, the expected “CV” level is 47uF/8V. The focus is to utilize maximum volume efficiency together with effort to get max anode CV/g. This addition widens the component list ready for embedding technology by some unique features of tantalum capacitors. We are entering a new age in the way of how parts are assembled. Embedding has already proved its potential for cost saving in some areas, and also has the ability to add new functionality and features to end devices; this is especially true in consumer electronics where smaller, higher functioning, and more reliable products have emerged using this technology.
Some Key Features/Benefits Include:
- High CV
- The smallest tantalum capacitor on the market
