The types 0201, 01005 and smaller, are mainly used in mobile phone and tablet market and therefore not directly related to the distribution industry. Also resistor networks, where several resistors are in one housing, also allow for a smaller footprint on the PCB. Additionally “High Power” versions are available. They have twice the power rating while keeping the same case size. Further miniaturization will also take place in the field of SMD Current Sensing Resistors. New manufacturing processes make higher electrical specifications with the same dimensions possible.
