Using asymmetric cryptography and a hardware security key, the login procedure provides maximum security when logging in to web services and online accounts. Additional security features for the Swissbit iShield Key Pro
Hash-based one time password (HOTP) is an event-based algorithm that combines a private key with a counter-based one-time password for securing 2FA windows login (local, MS Active Directory & Azure Active Directory). HOTP is also suitable for offline use case scenarios, if users have no internet access to execute FIDO.
Personal Identity Verification (PIV) enables the iShield Key Pro to store personal credentials for a specific individual for securely storing digital certificates and private keys and to store security keys for device identification, authentication and registration using PKCS#11 cryptographic standard.
