STMicroelectronics – BlueNRG-1
New Bluetooth Low Energy Application Processor from STMicroelectronics
STMicroelectronics is just about to introduce a new Bluetooth Low Energy Application Processor – the BlueNRG-1. This new SoC consists of a Cortex M0 with 160 KB Flash and 24 KB RAM available for customer applications and a 2.4 GHz transceiver. ST provides a full-featured SDK including templates, examples, iOS/Android apps, high-level abstraction layer APIs, real-time debug capabilities and support for IAR, Keil and Atollic. The BlueNRG-1 has an operating temperature range of up to +105°C and a quite unique output power of up to +8 dBm to ensure clear and reliable communication even in noisy environments. Also the power consumption values are very competitive: only 8.2 mA maximum TX current (@ 0 dBm, 3.0 V) and down to 1 µA current consumption with active BLE stack in the sleep mode.
With this last missing piece ST is now able to offer a very complete Bluetooth portfolio consisting of the following products:
- Bluetooth Classic Modules (SPBT26 series and soon new SPBT3 series)
- Bluetooth Low Energy Module (SPBTLE-RF)
- Bluetooth Low Energy Network Controller (BlueNRG and BlueNRG-MS)
- Bluetooth Low Energy Application Processor (BlueNRG-1)
- Balun Filter for BlueNRG series (BALF-NRG-01D3)
Together with the great Development Tools (Nucleo Open Development Platform and standard EVB’s) and the superior technical support ST is now a very good choice for every customer looking for Bluetooth communication.
