Panasonic presents new series of polymer capacitors
Panasonic Automotive & Industrial Systems brought a new thinner version of their aluminum-polymer capacitors from the SP-Cap series to the market. The new capacitors (LR und SR Series) are only 0.9mm high. They have a working voltage between 2 and 6.3V and a capacitance between 68 and 220 µF. The tolerance is ±20% (120Hz / +20°C).
The new capacitors now tolerate ripple currents up to 10.2 Aeff at 45°C, this is an improvement by 250%. The capacitors are now available with a working voltage of up to 35V. The series is partial specified on a lifetime of 2000 hours at 105°C, this equals to a lifetime of 10 years at an ambient temperature of 70°C.
