Optical Touchless Sensors are an innovative alternative to pressure, thermal, capacitance proximity, microwave, ultrasonic and motion sensors. They are a safe and reliable way to detect any object including human hands, feet, fingers etc. and can be used as an activation sensor for a wide variety of electronic devices, such as lighting, door activation, door locks and latches, door bells, motorized window shades and blinds, sunroofs, projection screens etc. For washroom applications such as taps and hand driers, detectors and emitters are usually placed in line or at a small angle to each other. A hand placed in the proximity of the emitter causes light to be reflected back to the detector producing a signal and activating the unit.
