New Vishay SMD NTC Thermistors offer enhanced stability with low +/- 0.5 % max. Variation of R25 values
Most SMD NTC thermistors with low initial electrical tolerances experience a change in their electrical properties after soldering, which has a direct impact on the accuracy of their temperature measurements. Devices in the Vishay BCcomponents NTCS….E3…SMT series, however, feature non-standard R25 values that are adapted to the resistivity of the thermistors’ stable ceramic material and case dimensions. This preserves the devices’ original electrical properties throughout their lifetime for increased accuracy.
Optimized for heat counters, body thermometers, and other medical applications, the thermistors released today offer one R25 value per case in the 0402, 0603, and 0805 case sizes. The devices’ high R25 values from 100 to 210 kilohms reduce self-heating effects, which could result in false temperature readings.
Featuring an SMD construction with nickel barrier and pure tin, the RoHS-compliant NTCS….E3…SMT series is ideal for wave and reflow soldering. The devices are delivered on punched paper tape on reels in packages of 4,000 units (for case 0603 and 0805) and 10,000 units (for case 0402).
