Kontron KBox Gateways and KontronOS Enable TeamViewer’s New Agentless Access Solution for Industrial Environments

KontronOS_KBox_titleKontron is providing the hardware and software foundation for TeamViewer’s new solution for secure remote access to industrial systems. Presented at Hannover Messe 2026, the solution combines TeamViewer’s Agentless Access technology with KontronOS and Kontron’s KBox A-251 and KBox A-151 IoT gateways, which are delivered preconfigured and ready for use.

The solution is designed to provide agentless remote access to OT systems based on a zero-trust principle, eliminating the need to install software on target devices. According to Kontron, the gateway runs on KontronOS, the company’s hardened Linux-based operating system developed for secure industrial environments.

At the heart of the solution are the KBox A-251 and KBox A-151, robust gateways designed for industrial use. They offer connectivity options including DisplayPort, USB-A 3.2, USB-C, and dual 2.5 Gbit LAN interfaces, providing the infrastructure needed for a wide range of industrial applications.

Kontron highlights that the combination of hardware, operating system, and preconfigured software enables a plug-and-play deployment approach while supporting features such as role-based access control, secure update mechanisms, and application isolation through container technologies. The company also highlights that the platform can help support requirements related to regulations such as the EU Cyber Resilience Act.

The company also states that the gateway platform is already used in thousands of industrial installations and can be deployed for applications including secure remote access, remote programming, system maintenance, and collaborative support.

As a Kontron partner, Rutronik offers access to the company’s portfolio of embedded computing and IoT solutions, including the KBox gateway family.
