Nordic Semiconductor – SDK for AirFuel
The nRF5 SDK for AirFuel, for both the nRF51 series and nRF52 series SoCs, supports the development of AirFuel Alliance-compliant wireless charging applications. The SDK allows developers to build wireless charging products. Such products fall into two categories;
- Charging pads that supply the charge wirelessly,
- Personal devices where wireless charging functionality can eliminate the USB cable.
Smartphones, wearable products, cameras, toys and almost any product with a re-chargeable battery can benefit from being able to charge wirelessly. Charging pads can be stand-alone products or integrated into other products such as automobiles and furniture. With interoperability assured by the Airfuel Alliance certification program, charging pads can recharge devices from any manufacturer enabling one charger to be used for multiple products at home, or in public spaces.
This nRF5 SDK for AirFuel has examples for both sides of an AirFuel application – Power Transmitting Unit (PTU) and Power Receiving Unit (PRU)
