Kontron K38xx-Motherboards now support 14th Gen Intel Core processors
Kontron announces BIOS Update R2.12.0 for all K38xx Series Motherboards, now extending support to Intel® Core™ processors of the 14th generation.
Higher performance and expandability for Kontron’s K38xx Mini-ITX, µATX and ATX motherboards
Shortly after the launch of the second batch of Intel’s new 14th generation Core processors, Kontron is integrating the necessary support for their utilization. Kontron announced the release of BIOS Update R2.12.0 for all K38xx Series Motherboards developed and produced in Germany Kontron. With this update Kontron is now extending support to Intel® Core™ processors of the 14th generation in order to ensures enhanced performance and prolonged platform availability. The BIOS update R2.12.0 update covers all existing platforms in Kontron’s ATX, Micro-ATX and Mini-ITX form factors, including the powerful K3851-R ATX motherboard and the ultra-thin K3831-H Thin mITX, designed specifically for retail applications. Optimized performance for demanding applications
Based on the Intel® Performance Hybrid Architecture, the new high-end Intel® Core™ i9 processors feature up to 24 cores (8 Performance Cores and 16 Efficient Cores). The Intel® Core™ i7 processors have also received upgrades, now offering a maximum of 20 cores (8 Performance Cores and 12 Efficient Cores). These adjustments ensure optimized performance in demanding application scenarios. The CPU series also offers discrete support for the new Wi-Fi 7 wireless standard.
Support for the Intel® Core™ processors of the 14th generation is available for all Micro-ATX motherboards, including K3842-Q µATX and K3841-Q µATX, since mid-March 2024. All ATX and Mini-ITX motherboards (K3851-R ATX, K3833-Q mITX, K3832-Q mITX and K3831-H Thin mITX) follow in several steps.
