The Fujitsu FTR-F3 compact high power relay
Power relay applications often face board space constraints. The Fujitsu FTR-F3 relay has been designed to fit into limited available PCB space. With its volume of just 2100mm3 the FTR-F3 relay is capable of switching currents up to 10A at 230VAC
Low power consumption
In line with Fujitsu’s environmental policy to launch green products, which consume less power, Fujitsu proudly announces the low power consumption of 200mW for the 1 form A version of the FTR-F3 relay.
Compact volume
With its limited required 142mm2 mounting space on the PCB, the FTR-F3 relay is reduced considerably, in comparison to older types of relays capable of delivering the same type of performance. This was achieved by using the latest materials available and an optimized construction of the magnetic circuit, coil, contacts and springs, inside the relay, by using the most modern CAD design techniques. Fujitsu FTR-F3 relays are used in a wide variety of applications ranging from home appliances and heating systems to building automation.
Isolation and protection
The FTR-F3 offers a high insulation distance between coil and contact of minimum 6mm (conforms to IEC 60065). Optimal clearance and creepage distances separate the low and high voltage of the primary and secondary circuits in the application. The dielectric strength of the relay is specified as 4KV applied between coil and contacts, with a maximum surge strength of 10KV at 1.2 x 50μs pulse wave voltage without causing dielectric breakdown.
FTR-F3 relay types Standard
The standard FTR-F3 relay has a contact rating of 5A-250VAC and 1 form A and C contact arrangement.
High inrush type The FTR-F3 high inrush type has a contact rating of 5A-250VAC and is TV5 rated, this relay is able to withstand 78A inrush current and is suitable for high inrush lamp load circuits. This high inrush current type has a 1 form A contact arrangement and straight or right angle terminals. The right angle type has a height of only 7mm making it valuable for applications with limited height available for the PCB assembly.
High power type
The FTR-F3 high power type can switch 10A current. Depending on the enclosure of the cover- ventilated or sealed-, the electric life is either 50K or 10K operations at maximum switching current. The terminals are straight and the contact form is 1 form A or 1 form C.
