STMicroelectronics – New ESD protection device in 0201 package can sustain 16 kV ESD surge
Low clamping and low capacitance bidirectional single line ESD protection
The ESDALC5-1BF4 features a single-line ESD diode combining a low parasitic capacitance of only 12 pF with an efficient clamping voltage of only 14 V just 30 ns after an 8 kV ESD discharge. It is ideally suited for applications requiring a compact PCB form factor and strong ESD robustness, thanks to its tiny 0201 surface-mount package (0.3 x 0.6 mm) and 16 kV capability. Its maximum leakage current of 100 nA helps minimize the overall system power consumption. In addition, its bi-directional diode structure makes it compatible with both positive and negative polarity signals.
