RL78/G1D provides an intelligent, low power, fully embedded Bluetooth® Smart compliant microcontroller solution for Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) applications, in both embedded and modem (radio-only) modes. Built for low power consumption, the Bluetooth® low energy transceiver technology delivers just 3.5mA receive and 4.3mA transmit power consumption; combined with RL78’s excellent power efficiency, this provides an industry-leading choice for battery-powered design. Power consumption is further optimised by adaptive RF technology, meaning it is automatically optimised to match the communication distance.
The RL78/G1D also integrates balun elements on-chip that would otherwise need to be provided in an external antenna connection circuit. This means you can simply connect the RF transceiver signal terminals to the external antenna terminals without discrete balun circuitry, saving development time and PCB costs.
