PAN9420 – Fully embedded stand-alone Wi-Fi module
Rutronik proudly presents the new product introduction of the PAN9420 Module from Panasonic – a fully embedded stand-alone 2.4 GHz 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi module and the successor of the PAN9320.
Compared to the PAN9320, the PAN9420 has an enhanced temperature range of -40 °C to +85 °C and reduced power consumption in transmit, idle and power down. It is replaceable without any changes on the mother PCB. The module includes a fully shielded case, integrated crystal oscillators, a chip antenna and a full security suite. With its integrated stack and API that minimizes firmware development, the PAN9420 works well for highly integrated and cost-effective applications. It combines a high-performance CPU, high-sensitivity wireless radio, baseband processor, medium access controller, encryption unit, boot ROM with patching capability, internal SRAM and in-system programmable flash memory. As access point and infrastructure mode are supported parallel, it is easy to setup simultaneous Wi-Fi connections from the module to smart devices and home network routers. Client (STA), micro access point (μAP), and Ad-hoc mode (Wi-Fi Direct) applications are enabled by the pre-programmed Wi-Fi SoC firmware. Raw data can be sent over the air from UART to smart devices, web servers, or PC applications with the transparent mode.
