NEW transflective TFT from DLC especially for outdoor use
DLC Display (DLC), together with its sales and marketing channels in Americas and in Europe, announced the development of a new 2.0 inch (TFT) liquid crystal display (LCD) module. This module is ideal for use in outdoor applications such as industry equipment or construction devices.
The new transflective TFT LCD module is well suited for use in industrial display applications. They are equipped with QVGA resolution and wide viewing angle to lower maintenance costs for equipment and reduce environmental impact.
Samples of this product are scheduled to be available in Q4 2016.
The main characteristics of the new module are as follows:
(1) High resolution
The 2.0 inch module has a QVGA(240*320) resolution and SPI interface to display more information on the TFT even in high ambient light environments. The displays are ideal for display applications in outdoor environments.
(2) Wide viewing angle
The 2.0 inch module has a wide viewing angle resulting in excellent viewability.
(3) Sunlight readable
The new module features sunlight readable by using transflective polarizer.
Typically displays used in outdoor environments are equipped with transflective polarizer and wide viewing angle in order to achieve sufficient viewability when exposed to strong light such as direct sunlight. Under these conditions LED backlights just need lower power consumption, this in turn lengthen a backlight’s lifespan. Achieving longer backlight lifespan and reducing maintenance costs of outdoor display equipment has, therefore, been a challenge.
DLC Display has responded to this market demand by developing and releasing products that achieve the full viewing angle and transflective mode by optimizing the heat dissipation performance of the backlight.
The 2.0 inch TFT LCD is the important size in DLC’s product family. The display’s feature allows more easily to read content on the display under the sun. It is ideal for use as a outdoor applications that shows a variety of information and data on the display.
