C&K – SO2 Qualified Switches for Smoke Detectors
According to European Standards, all smoke detectors need to be compliant with IEC 60068-2-42:2003 which is the sulphur dioxide (SO2) test for contacts and connections. It can be tested either at the system level or switch level.
Since this qualification can also be given at the switch level, C&K has qualified some of its products to the SO2 standards so they can be integrated in any system going into a smoke detector in Europe. The products have gone through a 4 day test with a temperature of 25°C, SO2 concentration 25×10-6 and relative humidity at 93%.
C&K’s SO2 qualified switches include:
Tactile: KMT0 offer an ultra low current version. KSC and KMR allow customization due to flexible manufacturing. KSE, PTS530 and PTS810 series are cost optimized solutions.
