In our days more than 90% technical problems with MLCC are based on machanical damages which result very often in the most critical fail of shortcircuit. To avoid these, called cracks , the first and main point is to reduce the mechanical stress by optimizing the handlingprocesses .
Never the less there are several features available to get higher robustness
and to avoid shortcircuit by parts themself.
Additionally there are special mounting versions with leadframes which will provide excellent mechanical robustness, i.e. called Stacked MLCC or MetalTerminal MLCC or MegaCap
