SOM-5000, VAB-5000, and ARTiGO A5000 – VIA’s new IoT platforms with Edge AI capabilities powered by MediaTek Genio 700 and designed for Industrial, Commercial and Consumer Applications.
VIA Technologies has introduced a new series of IoT platforms aimed at high-performance edge AI solutions. The SOM-5000, VAB-5000, and ARTiGO A5000 are tailored for industrial, commercial, and consumer uses that demand robust edge AI capabilities. Designers can choose from the VIA SOM-5000, a sophisticated system-on-module that integrates into a carrier board; the VAB-5000, a pico-ITX form factor featuring flexible I/O, a 40-pin RPi compatible connector, and direct DC power; and the ARTiGO A5000, a highly compact complete system. All three models are fanless, ensuring excellent power efficiency and expandability.
Powered by the MediaTek Genio 700, these platforms mark a major advancement in edge AI technology. The SOM-5000, VAB-5000, and ARTiGO A5000 are crafted to address the increasing need for smart edge computing across various applications. With their advanced processing power and versatile connectivity, they enable customers to create innovative and efficient edge AI solutions.
Powered by MediaTek Genio 700
VIA platforms equipped with the MediaTek Genio 700 offer exceptional AI, graphics, video, and computing performance, meeting the needs of the most demanding industrial, commercial, and consumer applications. At their core, the MediaTek Genio 700 features a robust octa-core CPU with two Arm Cortex-A78 processors, a powerful Mali-G57 GPU, dual display capabilities, and advanced AV1/H.265/H.264 video decoding. The multi-core NPU enhances edge AI applications, providing immediate responsiveness through on-chip processing. The integrated ISP supports very high-resolution cameras via the dual MIPI CSI interface. Connectivity options include Gigabit Ethernet MAC, WiFi-6, and 5G wireless. Applications can be developed using popular operating systems like Android, Yocto Linux, or Ubuntu, and benefit from MediaTek’s NeuroPilot SDK for accelerated AI integration.
