F&S PicoMODA5 – ARM based Module
The latest member of the PicoMOD series comes with a Freescale Vybrid controller.
It features a heterogenous Dual-Core solution that combines the ARM® Cortex®-A5 and Cortex-M4 cores. The module has up to 1GB Flash and 512MB DDR3 RAM. Available interfaces are Ethernet, CAN, I²C, SPI, camera and many more. 18Bit displays with touch can be controlled. Customized Linux and Windows Embedded Compact 2013 are available, as well as real-time MQX. Our JTAG Debug adapter is an inexpensive solution to access both cores via JTAG.
Description
The PicoMODA5 is based on a Freescale Vybrid CPU, clocked at 500MHz. The board is pin compatible to its predecessor model PicoMOD6, aside from the signals of the FS-BUS. By the possibility of connecting analog cameras, the module fits perfectly for applications in the surveillance sector or as a rear view camera in the commercial vehicles sector.
Hardware
The modern Cortex-A5 CPU has enough processing power to perform demanding tasks. The CPU is supported by the NEON unit and the Hardware Floatingpoint unit. The Vybrid CPU has an integrated Cortex-M4 processor, which can take care of critical real-time tasks.
